JAMMU, Aug 30: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today addressed the Foundation Day celebration of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and the Annual Day of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul.

Emphasizing the need to balance values with science in education, the LG said curiosity is the first lamp of knowledge. He stressed that holistic education should develop character, humility and compassion among students.

LG Sinha also called for greater focus on sustainable development, climate consciousness and ethical use of technology. He proposed a Values & Science Innovation Centre, a Service & Society Campaign, and greater emphasis on future skills at the Gurukul.
